Build A Bear

We took Piper to Build a Bear the weekend before I had the baby. Of course she ended up choosing to make a stuffed dog. I think that brings the total to 5 dogs that she sleeps with at night, and one cow. At any rate, she had fun picking it out and stuffing it. It has not only the heart but also a shamrock sewn inside it. Not surprisingly, she chose ruby red shoes for it to wear, and then picked out a pair of jeans. I found a red shirt and hat to match the shoes and Daddy picked out some sunglasses. It is one stylish dog.

Christmas Day 2009

Piper had a very Merry Christmas and received lots of toys and presents from her family. She loved her Princess dress up shoes and her new dolls. Santa brought her some new books and I must have read at least ten Dora stories tonight before she went to bed. No nap + a long day = an early bedtime of 7pm. Let's hope she stays there all night now. :)

Mommy and Daddy still have many more gifts to give her next week after we are unpacked. She has more than enough to play with now anyway. We still have to have Christmas with my family too. I think she is drowning in toys.

Trains

We stopped in the hobby store tonight before we went to the grand opening of Dave and Busters. They had an area just for the kids with two train tables set up to interact with while you were there. Piper loved the Thomas the Train table and played with it almost the whole time we were there. I wanted to walk around a little and look at the other merchandise, and she made it quite clear that she was not finished yet. I'll have to look into getting her something similar maybe for her birthday or Christmas. I loved trains when I was little too.

Arts and Crafts Project

We took a hot chocolate canister after it was empty and I let Piper paint it. Then we filled it with beans and voila...a new toy made espcially by her.

New Playthings

Piper got a new table and chairs from one of my friends, along with a bunch of other stuff. We are saving the kitchen playset and grocery cart for Christmas from Santa...shhh! Some of the other items I put back until she gets a little older- like the tricycle and puppet theater. The table is a little big for her, but she can manage to climb up on the chair. Imagine that! :) I've moved all of her art supplies into her room for now. They were on the dining room table, but I'm tired of it being covered with clutter. Hopefully she'll get an easel for Christmas too.

We need a bigger place for all of her new stuff!

I Thought I Taw a Putty Tat

We went bowling last night. I wasn't too sure I wanted to go since I wasn't sure about how loud it would be. Turns out it was fairly quiet until the very end. We bowled a couple of games. My first games sucked, I think I bowled a 100 even. Second game was better at 164. Candice took Piper to the arcade during our second game and won her a Tweety Bird stuffed animal. Just what she needs...more stuffed animals! :) This thing is bigger than she is too!

Halfway through our game the family across from us asked me what my name was because I looked familiar. It turned out to be a former student from five years ago. She had a friend with her from the same class. I had thought the parents seemed vaguely familiar, but didn't even think about it. The girls, Beth and Olivia, were so grown up. I can't believe it has been that long since they were in first grade.
