More Easter Pics and Kite Video
Piper had lots of fun on Easter. She found all of her Easter eggs and her basket. I think she was more excited about about hunting for eggs than she was about the stuff in her basket. Afterwards, Grandma picked her up for church. She's only been twice before, but she has the routine down, and knows exactly where to go and what to do. Grandma says she was really good.
Erick, Stella, and I met them at his parent's house for lunch. The kids played in the backyard in the sandbox, and Piper and Colin flew their kites. I was glad it was such a beautiful day again.

Incredible Pizza
They are always coming up with something new in terms of entertainment. Incredible Pizza was like a giant Chuck E. Cheese, but better. I was happy with how many little kid rides and activities they had available. Piper loved all of the rides and even went on a go-kart with grandma. They played putt putt and Colin played a few games.
The food wasn't bad, and since it was buffet style we ate, then played. then ate some more. :) Their theme was a 50's style, with a diner, a drive-in, and more areas to eat. We watched a movier in the "drive in" eating room starring Lucille Ball. Cheryl and I enjoyed the music too. If I lived closer I would probably join their Mommy and Me group that meets in the toddler area each week. Cheryl and I decided we would have to go back and just hang out all day next time.

Sidewalk Chalk & Clothing Stains
It has been really warm and nice lately, so we have been outside a lot playing. Last night we used the sidewalk chalk, and she had fun drawing on the cement for a while. Mostly she wanted to just run around and act silly. She was also obsessed with going for a walk in her stroller.

Night at Grandma's House
I let Piper spend the night for the very first time at Grandma's house last Wednesday. It was really emotional for me since she had never been away from me overnight before. Fortunately she did fine. I wasn't sure if she would go to sleep, since she is hard to get to bed at night. She does great taking naps with grandma though, so I was optimistic in thinking that maybe it would be similar. She resisted only a little bit, and I think grandma said she was in bed around 11pm, which I count as a major success!

Children's Museum
On Monday we went to the Children's Museum downtown. It was the first time Piper had gone and she had a lot of fun. We spent most of our time in the Playscape area, which is a spot designed just for kids 5 and under. Even better, there were two different spaces within Playscape that were specially designed for 2 and under.

She also really liked the sand table and spent quite a bit of time there. She wasn't sure if the feel of sand on her arm was okay or not though. It seemed to bother her and we had to keep brushing it off. She was very serious and studious as she explored in the sand. I wish we had a house so I could get her a sand and water table to play with in the backyard.

I knew that she would love playing in the water. She had fun pouring it out of the containers and splashing. Grandma was worried because she kept trying to put the toys in her mouth. Even though the water was clean and sanitized, it probably wasn't a good idea. It's hard for Piper to understand that these were different toys, and even though she can do this at home in the bathtub, she can't here.
Of course she loved the physical activities. There were tunnels and padded things to crawl on. She climbed the stairs to go down the slide and loved stacking up the giant blocks just to knock them down again. This was one of the under two areas, and it was nice she wasn't running around with the bigger kids for once.
She also played in the kitchen, where once again she put everything in her mouth. But hey, that's what you do with pretend food, is pretend to eat it. Duh Grandma! We smelled and planted flowers, picked some vegetables, and rode an airplane.
Finally, at the end of the visit we rode the carousel.
If you would like to watch all of the activities, please feel free to look at the video montage of the whole day. It includes photos not already shown, as well as video clips of the different activities.
